Elizabeth Hofer was raised in rural South Dakota where there are more cows than people. She graduated from Estelline High School as the valedictorian. She sang for the first time in front of an audience at the age of 5 with the song "Jesus Loves Me." From there, she went on to start competing in talent competitions, singing at local nursing homes and at church. By age 6, her signature song was "God Bless America." Her grandma, Eunice Berwald signed her up for every talent competition in the area including Rising Star, "You Got Talent", and Dakota Star. Elizabeth started gaining recognition and was singing the National Anthem at rodeos, sports games, and community events. At the age of 12, she was playing guitar with the Trooien Band and asked to sing at various events.
Her talent sparked her participation in the Miss America Organization where she has achieved five consecutive titles: Miss Dakota Plains' Outstanding Teen, Miss Rolling Plains' Outstanding Teen, Miss Jack's Outstanding Teen, Miss Rushmore's Outstanding Teen, and most recently, Miss Sioux Falls. This organization brought opportunities to promote her platforms of 'Memories Matter' and 'Think Head First'. She has spoken at schools, national leadership conferences, fundraisers, pageants, and at the 2019 South Dakota Counseling Association conference. Being in the Miss America Organization has had a huge impact on developing 'Elizabeth Hofer'.
The South Dakota State Fair has been a popular venue for Elizabeth over the years. She has been a drummer for the Swinging Country Band and multiple other bands including her church praise teams. She performs on the Sherwin Linton and the Cotton Kings stage every year at the State Fair and has also won the State Youth Talent Contest, Dakota Star, Rendezvous Karaoke, Wing and Brew Fest Karaoke, Aurora Gala Days Idol, and the Brown Country Fair Talent Contest. Most recently, she has opened for Ned Ledoux and Dustin Collins and is performing almost every weekend while recording her first album. She is currently studying Psychology and Sociology with an English and Music minor at Northern State University.
